Straight answers about our Atlanta moving company — pricing, service areas, insurance, deposits, and how we run every job. If your question isn’t below, send the form and we’ll get right back to you.
Are you a real moving company, or a broker?
We're a real, licensed moving company. Local Movers Online holds Georgia HHG authority and a USDOT number, we own our trucks, and our movers are W-2 employees. We never sell your job to a third-party "carrier." The crew that quotes your move is the crew that does it.
How does your pricing work?
We quote flat-rate, not open-ended hourly that creeps all day. Jenna goes over your inventory, where you're moving from and to, and any access issues — stairs, elevators, long carries — and gives you one price. The number we quote is the number our crew honors at the curb. No surprise fuel, stairs, or "heavy item" charges tacked on after the truck is loaded.
What areas do you serve?
All of metro Atlanta. That includes suburbs like Marietta, Decatur, Sandy Springs, Roswell, Smyrna, and East Point, plus every neighborhood inside the Perimeter — Buckhead, Midtown, Old Fourth Ward, Inman Park, you name it. We also handle long-distance moves out of Atlanta to cities like Nashville, Charlotte, Birmingham, and Orlando.
Are you insured?
Yes. We carry $1,000,000 in cargo and liability coverage, and because we're the actual mover and not a middleman, any claim is handled in-house by our office — you deal with us, not some carrier you've never met.
Do you require a deposit?
We take a small deposit to hold your date on the calendar, and it goes toward your total — it's not an extra fee. We're not in the business of collecting big upfront payments and disappearing, which is exactly the broker game we built this company to get away from.
What's your cancellation policy?
Life happens. Give us reasonable notice — a couple of days before your move — and we'll refund your deposit or reschedule you, no hassle. Just call the office and talk to Krista.
Do you offer packing?
We do. Our crew can pack your whole home, just the kitchen and other breakables, or supply boxes and materials if you'd rather pack yourself. We wrap furniture, pad-protect everything, and load it the right way — packing is part of what we do, not something we farm out.
Can you store my stuff?
Yes. If your closing dates don't line up or the new place isn't ready, we offer short- and long-term storage so your belongings sit safe until you're ready for them. Just ask Jenna to build it into your quote.
Do you do long-distance moves?
We do. We hold USDOT and MC authority for interstate moves, and our own truck and crew take you door-to-door — common runs out of Atlanta include Nashville, Charlotte, Birmingham, and Orlando. The same people who load you in Atlanta are the ones who unload you at the destination. No transfers, no warehouse shuffle.
Should I tip the movers?
Tipping is never expected, but it's always appreciated if the crew did a great job. There's no standard — some folks do a flat amount per mover, some do a percentage of the move. It's entirely up to you, and our crew works hard either way.
